Penny Wars 2015

February 18 - Feb 22, 2015: Aiea High School's annual penny wars competition. Throughout the week before penny wars, student association worked to put together advertisements like PA announcements through the PA system posters and flyers which were hung all throughout the school; resulting in more participation. After the first week of the competition, volunteers from executive council helped do a preliminary count for each class. Then, on the last day of penny wars, volunteers gathered again for the final counting before money collections. While the competition brought out school spirit from each class, all money donated went to a good cause. Every penny, nickel, dime, quarter and bill was donated to support the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The results of the competition are shown below.
PRELIMINARY RESULTS
1st Place: Juniors (1668 Points)
2nd Place: Freshmen (273)
3rd Place: Seniors (-427 Points)
4th Place: Sophomores (-734)

HOMECOMING WEEK - DAY 4: CHARACTER DRESS UP

September 16, 2010: The day before homecoming, students gained more spirit and competitivness. The dress-up theme was "movie character dress up." Students wore halloween-like costumes all over the campus, mimicking their favorite movie characters. Each class made their way to A5 during wiki to retrieve their spirit points while classes distributed their class t-shirts. The lunch noon-hour was also a success, gathering a large crowd toward the end due to the lunch food booths. The games were themed, "music game day," connecting the movie character dress up with musical games for entertainment.
