A December to Remember

Winter Ball: December 20, 2013 Aiea High School hosted its annual Winter Ball themed "A December to Remember", on Friday, December 20, 2013 at Pacific Beach Hotel's Grand Ballroom in Waikiki. Everyone had fun from the wonderful food, to taking beautiful pictures! Thank you to our awesome court choreographer Justine Bolosan, for helping us this year. Planning started months ago and with a lot of time and effort, winter ball was a major success. Student Association arrived early along side court to help set up the decorations and table settings around the room to make winter ball the amazing night it was. Thank you to the court parents, chaperones, security, Pacific Beach Hotel, Celebrity Tuxedos, Expressions Photography, and everyone who attended winter ball!

Aiea High School's New and Improved Administration Office 2013

FINALLY!  After years of waiting, Aiea High School has a new and improved office. Bright and open is your immediate impression as you walk into the entrance foyer.  With high ceilings and skylights, the foyer gives an almost cathedral-like impression.  A large conference room, found immediately to your right, is just one of a number of design concepts actualized in this newly built space.  This conference room is the place school business can be conducted with professionalism and Na Alii pride. As in years past,  Aiea Community Christmas parade included some Na Alii pride.  Some of the groups that participated this year were Freshman and Sophomore class council, Key Club, JROTC, and of course the Aiea high school Marching Band. It was great to see the community out to watch this years parade. Aiea's Principal Mrs. Sanders Leading the way,  followed closely by the Aiea HS Marching Band, under the direction of Matthew Momohara Sophomore and Freshman Class Councils show their Na Alii Pride at this years parade.

The Student Association Officers would like to wish you a happy holidays, and hope that all in attendance at this years Winter Ball have a "December to Remember".  Students please remember that ALL attending the Winter Ball,  must present a picture ID at the check in table in order to enter.  Please refer to your permission forms for proper attire. Doors open at 5:30 pm at the Pacific Beach Hotel Grand Ball Room.  This event will end promptly at 10pm.

Students wrote short notes expressing what they are thankful for during this holiday season.  Words of gratitude range from being thankful for family, friends, teachers and yes their education here at Aiea high school.   These links of kind words can be found in the Aiea High School Library. Class Officers help link all the words of thanks.... thank you! Linked together the chain measured over 300 feet in length, representing  almost 900 students at Aiea High School.

Aiea High School's "An Hour of Code"

Everyone is invited to attend an "Hour of Code"  December  9  to 13,  every day after school in the Library with Mr. Ken Kang.             “Everybody in this country should learn how to program a computer….because it teaches you how to think.”                                      - Steve Jobs One of Aiea High School's multi-talented teachers, an hour of code instructor  Mr. Ken Kang. Senior Elden Nakagawa attends and Hour of Code with friends. Japanese Teacher Uchida Sensei found coding fun and intriguing.
