New Student and Freshmen Orientation Day

Aiea has the tradition of making sure new and freshmen students have all the essential experience and knowledge to navigate their way around campus on the first full day of school.  On their orientation day they meet and hear from everyone from the Principal, Vice Principal, Class Advisor and even their Class President.  They gather in small group sessions led by an upperclassmen mentor where they learn the history of Aiea High School, tour the campus, participate in team building activities, and even set educational goals with their grade level Vic Principal. Most of all they make good memories and start important relationships with others.

Upperclassmen Mentors!  You guys rock!

HOMECOMING WEEK - DAY 4: CHARACTER DRESS UP

September 16, 2010: The day before homecoming, students gained more spirit and competitivness. The dress-up theme was "movie character dress up." Students wore halloween-like costumes all over the campus, mimicking their favorite movie characters. Each class made their way to A5 during wiki to retrieve their spirit points while classes distributed their class t-shirts. The lunch noon-hour was also a success, gathering a large crowd toward the end due to the lunch food booths. The games were themed, "music game day," connecting the movie character dress up with musical games for entertainment. Inokuchi High School Visits Aiea

A High School visit from our sister school in Hiroshima is an event that students, faculty, and staff look forward to every year.  This year's visit was different, in that it was done in January rather than their usual visit in October.   Marked with speeches, traditional Omiyage gift exchanges, as well as cultural performances by both schools, this event was marked with pen pals finally having a chance to meet.  By the end of the day, friendships were made, with lasting memories to reflect upon for many years to come, Inokuchi and Aiea High School students came to realize that though they are from different  countries and cultures, we have more similarities than differences a lesson that is best learned face to face.
