Principals List Students Recognized

To C.A.R.E ( Character, Attitude, Respect, Excellence) is the Aiea Way.  Our C.A.R.E committee recognized all of our Principals List students by giving them special certificates, ribbons, and a goodie bags. Eldon Nakagawa is congratulated by our TA Vice Principal Mr. Kalama for his excellent Academic record.

May Day 2014

Another Successful May Day Celebration was held on Thursday, April 24, 2014! Ancient Hawaiian customs have been adopted over the years and was celebrated today in a flourish of colors, chanting, tradition, and hula. This year's May Day court featured Princesses  Tifanie Muagututia, Megan Maafala-Maiava, Christina Gonzalez, Kailly Paulo, Jenaiah Santos, Hakumele Fuga-Mercado, Anolani Kane, and Bryanne Gutierrez. Also, Princes Sage Albinio-Cadual,  Keanu-Lexus Maduli -Pagampao, Shaun Sakai, Lopaka Maialoha, Kailen Shinmoto, Jantzen Shinmoto, Leit Kabua, and Peter Cazimero. Last but not least, our May Day Queen Roina Ma'afala, and King Sage Maialoha.  Thank you to everyone who was involved in making this event a successful one.

Honors and Awards Night 2014

April 22, 2014, Aiea High School hosted its annual Honors and Awards Night, an evening dedicated to recognizing excellence in academics, extra curricular, and student activities. National awardees include the Voice of Democracy awardees Ryan Lee and Reyna Pascual, Harvard Book Awardee Logon Morton, Yale Book Awardee Diana Marquez, and Sydney Unciano and Kristin Fujiyama. Congratulations to all the outstanding students recognized and thank you for your continual hard work through out the school year!

DOE Preschool Inclusion Play Day 2014

On Thursday, April 17th, Aiea High School's Peer Education students and Hawaii State Student Council representatives participated in this year's Central District's service project, Preschool Play Day at Mililani District Park. Students ran game booths and ensured every child was having fun and being safe. There were a variety of games, including a ball pit, tunnel, obstacle course, sea horse bounce, and see-saw.  Many students left with a refreshed mindset, coming to realize and understand that everyone is beautiful regardless of their unique differences. Also, they came back with the message "Spread the word to end the word." Aiea High School's Peer Education students and HSSC Representatives. Angeline giving a child a sticker. Student Association 2014 Recognized for Excellence

Recently, the Student Association was recognized by the National Association of Student Councils for their efforts in maintaining and improving a Student Activities program that continues to strive for excellence. "This simply means we have a firm foundation, and need continue to make improvements based on the measure provided for us by NASC.  I would like to thank the Student Executive Council members, all Clubs members, Senate Council members, and especially all the dedicated administration, faculty, and staff who's selfless service as Advisors help make our School well rounded and relevant"                                                                   - Mr. Nakamitsu Student Activities Coordinator.

Aiea HS shows its love for our Military Students at our "Purple Up Day"

Students signed their names adding to the legacy. The mood was festive with balloons, music, and fellowship. Everyone that dressed in purple got a treat... a purple treat! This was just a small group of supportive faculty and military student. This is just a sample of the great faculty support our students have. Yay teachers!

Bottle Cap Battle 2014

Aiea High School had its first annual bottle cap battle! All bottle caps go to the  Kōkua Hawaiʻi Foundation, and the top winning school will receive a special performance from the one and only Jack Johnson ! Aiea High School donated a total of 19,084 bottle caps! Congratulations to all the classes for their hard work and participation.  Sophomores: 11,023 Juniors: 4,306 Seniors: 2,213 Freshman: 1,042 Aiea High School managed to collect over 111 LBS of bottle caps
